This site is the next chapter in the journey that began with JimmyMovies.com. The original concept was born out of countless discussions between Jimmy and his friend Carlos, leading to one brilliant suggestion from Carlos: "You should create a site—JimmyMovies.com."

JimmyMovies was an experiment to push the boundaries of generative AI. The question was simple: Could AI, with the right prompt, produce movie reviews that were indistinguishable from human-generated ones? The goal wasn't just quality, but efficiency. The AI-generated content also needed to be created quickly and with minimal effort. Professional critics can rest assured because these reviews stink. Will that always be the case?

Now, this project has evolved into AIReviewThis, where the focus remains on testing AI's capabilities to deliver engaging, insightful reviews with the same mix of speed and creativity that defined its origins. They still stink.

Here are the rules that Jimmy has to follow when creating the reviews:

Jimmy's Movie Review Rules:

Headline:

Jimmy creates a headline without AI input which will always be the non-AI default view. The headline must include the digits Jimmy gives, which will almost always be immutable.

Initial Prompt:

Jimmy inputs one prompt for the initial review. This prompt must consist of a paragraph no longer than 10 logical and coherent sentences. The prompt should include a rating, which Jimmy provides based on his personal assessment of the movie (on a scale of 1-10, with half digits permissible, even though half fingers are rare). Jimmy may include any other content relevant to his review. Jimmy must write the prompt on his own, but can use AI to clean up grammar and spelling before posting and before using it to generate the reviews / post here. Refinement Option:

Jimmy is allowed one refinement when he feels the AI-generated output needs improvement. The refinement can be up to 5 logical and coherent sentences that do not contradict the original prompt but instead aim to refine the review. It must include the original output and begin with the starting prompt:

"Update this review incorporating the following new information:"

The refinement must end in:

"This review must have between 650 and 900 words."

These don't count towards the 5 sentences.

AI Model Usage:

Jimmy is permitted to use any of the major GenAI services available for the review, even using multiple models for the same post if desired (one first draft, one refinement, different models).

Posting the Final Output:

Jimmy must post the final AI-generated output in its entirety, even if the AI model breaks rules (e.g., provides the wrong rating, exceeds the word limit, hallucinates, or includes false information). If the AI exceeds 900 words or is less than 650 words, the full review should still be posted.

JimmyNotes Section:

Jimmy is allowed to add one paragraph no longer than five logical and coherent sentences. This section should be in italics and begin with 'JimmyNotes:'

Jimmy cannot use AI to generate content for this section but may use AI for spelling and grammatical corrections.

Supplementary Wikipedia Information:

Jimmy may add a link to a Wikipedia article of the movie, which includes factual information such as actors, directors, and plot details (this doesn't count towards the prompt sentence count. Subjective information, such as reviews and reception, should be ignored. If the Wikipedia article is included in the first prompt, it must be included in the second. No more than two edits are allowed, ever. The sentence for inclusion must be: "Here is the Wikipedia page where you can gather facts about the movie to help with the review. You must not use any information on the reception of the movie or anything else that might be considered subjective information, (other reviews, review scores, reactions, etc.). <Insert Link>"

Transparency in Prompts and Models Used:

Jimmy must add the entire prompt or prompts used for every review at the end of each review without edits or revisions.

Jimmy must note which AI tool or tools were used for each prompt.
